Their marriage ended with a divorce finalized in January 2012, but this did not stop Patrick from making death threats against her.

A recording of a call between Deanna and a 911 operator on August 17, 2012, showed proof of a severe fight between the former and Patrick before Deanna’s death. 

The call ended with Patrick repeatedly saying, “I’m gonna kill you.”

Almost an hour after the call, the police arrived at Deanna’s house, but nobody answered. 

Since the report had been of a disturbance, they found Deanna dead in the bathtub of her own house. 

Authorities arrested Delvecchio Patrick on the same day in Balch Springs, Texas, due to some active warrants against his name for Deanna Cook’s murder.

In May 2015, Delvecchio Patrick’s trial began, where various witnesses, mostly the victim’s neighbor.
